Pastor Charles E. Williams, Jr.
Pastor Charles E. Williams, Jr. is a native of Orlando, FL. Currently he is the Senior Pastor/Teacher of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando. He is the son of Charles E. Williams, Sr. and the late Mary L. Williams. He is the youngest of three children. He has one sister; Teresa and one brother; Marlin. Pastor Williams is married to the former Shamela J. Hall. Pastor and Lady Williams are blessed with two beautiful children, Sharnyce Jewell Williams and Charles Edward Williams, III (Tre’).
Pastor Williams was educated in the Orange County Public School System. Upon graduating from Edgewater High School, he went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, FL and he is currently pursuing his Masters of Divinity Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Pastor Williams accepted the call of Christ upon his life at a very young age at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando, FL. In 2002, he surrendered to the Call of the Ministry. He was licensed as a Minister of the Gospel in March of 2003 and ordained in October of 2004 at Mt. Pleasant and served on the Ministerial Staff there for several years.
Prior to his current assignment from the Lord at Zion Hill, Pastor Williams spent seven years with The Bank of New York Mellon Company in Lake Mary, FL as an Investment Accounting Manager, before joining the official staff of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as the Office Administrator. In March of 2010, Pastor Williams was called to be the Senior Pastor/Teacher of the Greater Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Callahan, FL where he effectively and efficiently gave leadership to the people of God for 3 ½ years. Under his leadership, Greater Mt. Pleasant became a strong, vibrant, growing, and thriving church in the Callahan and Jacksonville area. Pastor Williams continues to do the will of God and fulfill the calling on his life and has embraced his new assignment and challenge to lead the people of God and the Zion Hill Church to the next level.
Upon returning to Central Florida, Pastor Williams immediately went to work. The Zion Hill Church is growing numerically but more importantly spiritually. In the short time that he has been there, several improvements have been implemented and new ministries have been added under his leadership. Pastor Williams is excited about what God is doing in this season in the life of Zion Hill. He is looking forward to what the Lord will do in and through him in this season of ministry. Pastor Williams is expecting for God to continue to do great things in the lives of the members, in the life of the church, as well as in the community.
Pastor Williams is also active outside of the church. His community involvement includes being a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the NAACP, and the School Advisory Council at Eccleston Elementary School.
Pastor Williams is a highly sought after preacher and has been blessed by God to preach in various settings all around the United States of America. Pastor Williams lives his life as a man of God knowing that he has been called by God to preach a “Now Word” to this generation. He has a strong conviction for 2 Timothy 4:2 and knows that he has to “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.” Pastor Williams is a humble man who continues to, give God the glory for the great things that He has done.
